News round up

Religion– Pope Francis will be releasing his first apostolic exhortation on Sunday at the close of the Year of Faith. The document will be entitled Evangelii Gaudium or The Joy of the Gospels, and I am sure that it will be up here sometime next week. This will be the moment that closes this Year of Faith. Another moment that is coming up is the first ever exposition of the relics of Saint Peter.

Movies– In what might be the worst Movie news ever there are plans to make a sequel to It’s a Wonderful Life. It is said that the in the articles that the movie will focus on George Bailey‘s grandson, also named George Bailey and feature Zuzu as an Angel who shows the new George Bailey what life would be like without him ever being born. This is classic Hollywood trying to make a dime and not realizing that they don’t need to endlessly remake movie, there are some old movies that I would love the chance to go see at a movie theater why can’t they just re-release these movies they are dying to make sequels for in theaters and the studios would make a good amount of money.

In happier movie related news it is rumored that the living members of Monty Python will be reuniting this would be interesting as they haven’t done anything all together since 1988 or there about. In other news Blofeld and SPECTRE can possible be back in the next Bond film as MGM, the James Bond people and Kevin McClory‘s estate came to terms on these key aspect of the James Bond lore.

MusicBob Dylan has got a cool interactive music video over on his website, it features like 18 different channels where everyone is singing along to the song. It is highly rewatchable.

Sports– There is some big news coming out of Orlando, Major League Soccer has come back to the state of Florida after abandoning it after both the Fusion and the Mutiny folded in 2001.  Orlando City Soccer Club joins the already announced New York City FC in 2015 as the 21st and 20th clubs respectively. It is nice to see that there will be some new clubs joining but hopefully there can be some other clubs soon there after as it would be nice to have a balanced league. I applaud the efforts of MLS to go back to Florida and hope that there is some team added that is close to them in the future. If only there were that thing called relegation in the sports in the Untied States.
