This has to be one of the weirdest stories that I’ve seen recently the Han Solo film being only like 3 week away from finishing filming and the directors leave. Now according to several sources Phil Lord and Christopher Miller have left the project, being fired because of creative differences. As Kathleen Kennedy stated in an official statement “Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are talented filmmakers who have assembled an incredible cast and crew, but it’s become clear that we had different creative visions on this film, and we’ve decided to part ways. A new director will be announced soon.” Lord and Miller are the guys behind the cartoon Clone High, the Jump Street movies and the animated films The Lego Movie as well as Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. According to The Hollywood Reporter they were fired for going “off-script” and not really making Lawrence Kasdan the screenwriter, who knows Han Solo better than just about anyone, happy with their decisions. Hopefully this can be figured out quickly and that this doesn’t delay the release until December of 2018.
