It’s that time of the year again here in the United States when you can legitimately watch Independence Day or the new one that came out, but I’d stick with the old one with the classic speech. If you really aren’t in the mood for a science fiction film then there are a couple musicals like Yankee Doodle Dandy about George M Cohan, On the Town about a trio of sailors exploring New York City in one day or 1776 about the Continental Congress. If these don’t float your boat there are countless historic dramas and war movies from The Last of the Mohicans to The Hurt Locker. There are also a bunch of television programs like HBO’s John Adams or even AMC’s Turn which are pretty great and set in and around the Revolutionary War, as well the Nathan’s Hot Dog eating contest on ESPN.
If you don’t watch a movie or television program don’t float your boat perhaps a baseball game might be more of your speed or going out and exploring where you live visit a local brewery, winery, cidery or distillery. However make sure that wherever you go they are open and all that fun stuff. If there is a parade go to it and eat whatever you feel like eating.
