AL/NL Championship Series

On the American League side the Division series both went to five games and boy was it an exciting game five in the Toronto game where in the seventh inning craziness occurred, where Toronto climbed back and the Rangers made three errors. Toronto won the game and the series. They will face Kansas City who made their way back to the ALCS.  The Blue Jays and Royals are the top two teams from the American League. This will be the second time they meet in the Playoffs  as the Royals beat them on their way to their 1985 World Series Championship. The Royals made it to the World Series last year and I think they have a slightly better chance to win the ALCS, but if either team makes it to the Series and wins it will be ending a long drought for both teams (30 in Kansas City and 22 in Toronto).

In the National League the Cubs won in four games over the Cardinals and the Metropolitans had to go to game five to send the Dodgers home. This is the first time since 2007 that the Cardinals, Giants, Dodgers or Phillies will not be participating in the NLCS. The Mets got pitching and the Cubs perhaps have luck on their side, with their win in the NLDS over the Cardinals they became the favorite to win the World Series, especially with the prediction made in Back to the Future part II. The Cubs and Mets will be meeting for the first time in the postseason. I’d really like the Cubs to win but it’s going to be close since the Mets dropped all 7 games against the Cubs this year but that was way back during the first half of the season.  However even if the Mets win out either team will be ending a long drought in the World Series (29 in New York and 107 in Chicago).

As they say in Chicago “Eamus Catuli”
