It’s that time of the year again, a time when we honor Ludwig I of Bavaria and Theresa of Saxe-Hildburghausen by drinking a bunch of beer and pulling out your Lederhosen and Dirndl to wear it for that one time of the year. Oktoberfest is a special time of the year for beer as it has it’s own special type of beer the Marzen traditionally brewed in March and kept in the cellar during the summer. It’s the time of year where everyone claims some German ancestry, on top of this it’s also that time of year when we have fall beer coming out and we will begin seeing Christmas beers in a couple of week. If you aren’t a fan of beer perhaps try some Apfelschorle (apple juice mixed with mineral water) it’s a great non-alcoholic option for Oktoberfest as well.
So I hope that you all can enjoy so beer, eat something German and have a blast listening to polkas. If you can’t make it to Munich proper I am sure that you can find something similar just about anywhere in the world. Let us all raise our glasses and toast to the happy couple Ludwig and Theresa, as well as all other married couples..
