The Babadook (2014)

The Babadook is a legit scary movie and not like so many of the newer films which are just a bunch of shaky camera movements. Since this is a horror film there’s not going to be much today. This is Jennifer Kent’s masterful film, she wrote and directed it and it is one of the scariest things that I’ve seen in years. The story is about a woman raising her young son alone and they are tormented by an evil entity, Mister Babadook.

The film has near universal acclaim, it picked up the Australian Oscar for Best Film, Director and Original Screenplay as well as the Empire Award for Best Horror Film. The director of The Exorcist, William Friedkin said on Twitter “I’ve never seen a more terrifying film. It will scare the hell out of you as it did me.”  If you haven’t seen the movie go watch it, The Babadook is on Netflix and Amazon.
