ABC has announced that this fall they will be broadcasting a brand new show featuring the world famous Muppets. According to the press release The Muppets return to prime time with a series that, for the first time ever, will explore the Muppets’ personal lives and relationships, both at home and at work, as well as romances, break-ups, achievements, disappointments, wants and desires; a more adult Muppet show, for kids of all ages.
I’m not sure if this is a good thing or not, as much as I like The Muppets do we really need to explore their personal lives, Kermit and Piggy are about the extent of the romance. I hope that they at least have some humans involved, as that’s one of the best part of The Muppets. It sounds like they want it to be like a tame version of Avenue Q, I vaguely remember Muppets Tonight, the last big Muppets television program, so I am not sure what to expect with the new show. It sounds interesting if only the put it on like Sunday at 8 or some family friendly time.
There will be more fall television news coming this upcoming week as all the networks will layout their fall schedules. Next Friday I’ll have an overview and what all I will be watching.
