The Visitation

The Second Glorious Mystery is one that means a great deal during the holiday season. At the Visitation Mary goes and visits her cousin Elizabeth and as soon as Elizabeth hears Mary’s voice John stirred in her womb. Elizabeth replys Blessed are you among women and blessed in the fruit of your womb. They share in the joy of motherhood. This greeting is similar to what happens at Christmas families come together from all over as well as friends and we share in the birth of Jesus. In my family Christmas is about the only time of year when I get to see most of my cousins. Sure Jesus might be pushed aside with all the buying and spending that takes place around the holiday but Jesus should be the core. Sure the holidays can get stressful dealing with all your family members but we should be able to great all of them like Elizabeth does, calling them blessed and being welcoming to them, who knows the troubles that they have been facing
