Since it’s Christmas Eve, I thought to switch it up today and not do the typical rosary reflection. So it will be more about the season in general earlier this week, so yesterday, I read that we need to put the X back in Christmas, it being ironic since many people complain that the X takes Christ out of Christmas and what not, but the X actually comes from the Greek letter Chi, the first letter of Christos. The post ends by saying that we should put the Thor back into Thursday as well.
It’s like how at most stores they wish you Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. Yet Christmas has morphed over the year into the over commercialized thing we have today. Sure I think everyone knows the Christmas story from the countless Christmas specials and all the Christmas Carols. Jesus was born to Mary in Bethlehem in a stable a long time ago. It is a shame that Santa Claus has taken over the season.
There are some great things about the season as most people use this time to get together with family and friends or at the least send out a card wishing them a Merry Christmas. The gift giving and thinking of others as well but It would be nice if Jesus could be remembered a little more.
