Barbara Walters has been doing this special for the past 20 year in which she looks at the 10 most fascinating individuals during the past year. In the special each entrant would have a short profile (typically biographical in nature) interspersed with an interview and Barbara tells us why they had been chosen for they list.
This years list includes a wide selection from ranging from reality tv stars to a royal babe. Some of the selections seemed a bit absurd but it seems i am getting ahead of myself. Jennifer Lawrence starts the list and is a great selection as she won an Oscar earlier this year and is one of the hottest young stars in Hollywood. Robin Roberts is next and after she was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome and underwent a bone marrow transplant late last year she has made a wonderful recovery and raised awareness for this rare disease and inspired many to become bone marrow donors.
We continue down the list with Edward Snowden, the ex-NSA contractor who exposed how much spying goes on. This event is one of the biggest this year as it got it’s own South Park episode. On a happier note we turn to Prince George of Cambridge the son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge he is currently third in line to the throne and it seems to many he has a better than Prince Charles to become King of England
The next pair and superstars in the world of reality TV , The Robertson Family from Duck Dynasty and Kim Kardashian from her vast empire of shows and her baby’s daddy Kanye West. The Robertson’s show Duck Dynasty is one of the most watched reality shows on television. Kim and Kanye had a child which they gave the worst name ever North, Kim and Kanye are engaged and it looks like it might be tome for another wedding special event on Keeping Up with the Kardasians.
Miley Cyrus is also on the list and it seems she is there just for the volumes of time she has appeared twerking and basically being an adult when many people still picture her as the adorable Hannah Montana.
The last two individuals on the list are a Time Person of the Year and the other is a mainstay of Barbara’s lists and her most fascinating person of the year. Pope Francis the current Pope, leader of the Catholic Church is the first. He has had a meteoric rise since being elected in March it seems like every week he’s done something or he is embracing the sick or the young. Francis has brought back many to the Church however i think we really need to wait and see. This year’s most fascinating person is for the third time, Hillary Rodham Clinton, ironically enough Hillary was named the first fascinating person and she was also most fascinating ten years ago as well. After stepping down as Secretary of State in February, Hillary has joined the Clinton Foundation and people have already been speculating that she will try to run again in the 2016 Presidential Election. Although it is still year from now and hopefully there will be some new people in the political arena by then who are younger and
